This project transforms a spontaneous, heartfelt phone conversation between two best friends into a 2D animated music video. The animation will visually represent the emotional depth and intimacy of the dialogue, using creative visuals to convey the emotions expressed during a time of significant personal struggle for the friends. Interspersed with the present-day conversation, illustrated scenes will depict the friends younger selves journeying through Edo-era Japan. These sequences will showcase the beauty of the period, encounters with the people, yokai and forest spirits and ultimately serve as visual representations of their shared childhood memories and the resilience they developed during those formative years. The animation style will be expressive to match the tone of the conversation and the music. The goal is to create something truly moving and memorable that captures the essence of friendship, resilience, and overcoming life's challenges.
